BenIT Consulting

Deep-tech consultancy — AI first

Put AI to work, without the hand-waving.

BenIT Consulting helps leadership teams decide what to build, then builds it — modern cloud foundations, real data pipelines, AI systems that survive contact with production, and the security posture to defend them.

Services

Senior engineering, end to end.

Four delivery areas, one senior point of contact — strategy and build, not one or the other.

Primary focus

Data & AI

Strategy and engineering: decide what to build, then ship something that actually runs in production.

  • AI strategy, use-case selection & cost modelling
  • RAG, agents and ML integration on your stack
  • LLM evaluation, guardrails & operational handover

IT strategy & advisory

Roadmaps, vendor selection, and CIO-as-a-service for organisations without a permanent CTO.

  • Technology roadmap & investment plan
  • Vendor & SaaS evaluation
  • Fractional CTO / CIO engagements

Cloud & DevOps

AWS, Azure and GCP foundations built with infrastructure-as-code from day one — so AI workloads have somewhere to land.

  • Cloud migration & landing zones
  • CI/CD and platform engineering
  • SRE, observability & cost control

Cybersecurity

Audits and compliance evidence that auditors actually accept — and AI threat modelling for what you're shipping next.

  • ISO 27001, NIS2 & GDPR readiness
  • Pentesting & secure SDLC reviews
  • AI threat modelling & LLM red-teaming

How we work with you

Engagement formats.

Different problems call for different shapes of help.

AI consulting

Bespoke engagements to take a specific AI/LLM idea from prototype to production — including evaluation, cost modelling and operational handoff.

Mentoring

1:1 or team mentoring for engineering leaders and IT teams who want a senior sparring partner, not a permanent dependency.

Workshops

Half-day and full-day training on cloud, DevOps, data and applied AI — tailored to your stack, not a generic deck.

Process

How an engagement actually feels.

No sales theatre. A short, candid path from first call to working software (or a defensible decision not to build).

  1. 01Discover

    Understand the real problem

A 60-minute working call. We map the goal, the constraints, the data, the people and the deadline — and decide together whether this is even the right thing to build.

  2. 02Frame

    Pick the smallest meaningful shape

A short written brief with options, costs, risks and a recommended path. Sized so we can ship the first useful version in weeks, not quarters.

  3. 03Build

Ship it like it has to survive Monday

Built in your stack, by me, with infrastructure-as-code, tests, observability and security baked in — not bolted on at the end.

  4. 04Handover

Leave your team able to run it

Documentation, runbooks and a working knowledge transfer with your engineers. You should be able to keep going without me — that's the point.

About

Senior engineering, without the layers.

Jose Benitez · Independent technology consultant

Mentoring teams across Europe since 2019

I work the way I'd want a consultant to work for me: directly, with skin in the game, and ready to disagree with you when it matters. You get a senior engineer in the room — not a deck, not a delivery manager, not a junior team learning on your budget. The goal is always that you end the engagement stronger than you started, with people on your side who can keep going without me.

Based in North Wales — working with clients across the UK, Spain and the wider EU.

Internal RAG that the legal team actually trusts

A mid-market services firm wanted ChatGPT-for-our-policies. We replaced their previous prototype with a retrieval pipeline they could audit, added evaluation runs against curated questions, and locked source citations into every answer. Result: legal signed off, and the assistant entered daily use across three teams.

From hand-rolled VMs to a real landing zone

A regulated SaaS scaleup had outgrown a hand-built AWS account. We rebuilt their foundation in Terraform with proper environments, secrets, observability and cost tagging — then migrated workloads behind feature flags so nothing on the customer side moved.

ISO 27001 evidence that auditors stopped arguing with

An EU AI-product team had been failing the same control mappings for two audits. We rewrote their evidence trail around how the product actually works, automated the recurring artefacts, and walked the auditors through it. Certification passed first time on the next attempt.
